Sweet Dog Found Alone Wins Hearts with His Love for Hugs

Lost and frightened, a gentle American bulldog mix named Mr. Snufflufugus was recently spotted roaming near the edge of Copperas Cove, Texas, in search of someone to help him.

Thankfully, local animal control officers were able to rescue him and bring him to Copperas Cove Animal Control. Once safe, Mr. Snufflufugus quickly bonded with supervisor Tamara Hall, showering her with love. Staff member Victoria Watkins-Killebrew captured a heartwarming moment when the dog gave Hall a hug—an image that melted hearts online.

“Victoria and I were in the play yard when Mr. Snufflufugus decided he needed a hug,” Hall told The Dodo. “Although he enjoys visitors, I’m definitely his favorite. I get the best hugs and kisses from him!”

Affectionate and sweet-natured, Mr. Snufflufugus has earned a reputation at the shelter for being a champion cuddler.

“He’s a total cuddle bug,” Hall said. “If you sit down, he’ll either climb into your lap or snuggle beside you, looking up with those irresistible eyes.”

When not snuggling, Mr. Snufflufugus enjoys brief strolls outside, though he truly prefers relaxing. “He loves walks, but he’s definitely more of a couch potato,” Hall added.

After the viral photo made waves on social media, the shelter was inundated with adoption requests. Due to limited resources, they are arranging for Mr. Snufflufugus to be transferred to a larger rescue group that can help him find the perfect home.

In the meantime, he's enjoying every moment at the shelter with caring volunteers who continue helping him thrive while he waits for his forever family.

With his big heart and love of hugs, this sweet pup is sure to make someone very lucky.
